Shadow of the Empire for Android

Fans of old-school PC strategy will feel at home here. This page covers the Shadow of the Empire APK download for Android, a free strategy game from the small Russian studio ForgeOfGames. Its single-player mode runs offline, and GNVID offers the original version 1.8 as an APK file.

Shadow of the Empire APK download for Android: about the game

Shadow of the Empire arrived on Google Play as a limited, test-style release, and the developer has shared little official description. Even so, it runs well. The design borrows heavily from classics such as Age of Empires and Stronghold, so anyone who enjoyed those series will recognize the structure right away.

Every match starts with nothing but a main house. You need quick thinking and smart choices to expand your empire. Workers are the key: they carry out the tasks you assign automatically, and the AI handles them well, so you do not have to micromanage each one.

Game modes and content

Single player

Play solo against the computer. Before a match you choose your forces from two different empires and pick the map. This mode needs no internet connection.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is the highlight, and there are two ways to play:

• Online: create a room or browse existing ones. Since the game is still little known, finding a match can take a while.
• LAN: play with a friend without internet. Both devices need the same game version and must be connected to the same router over Wi-Fi. One player creates a room in the LAN section and the other joins it.

• Version: 1.8
• Android: 5.0 or higher
