Dumb Ways to Die for Android

Looking for a quick, silly game that puts your reflexes to the test? This Dumb Ways to Die APK download for Android gets you the latest version of the Metro Trains classic, a collection of rapid-fire mini-games wrapped in cheeky cartoon humor that you can enjoy for free and offline.

Dumb Ways to Die APK download for Android: the idea and gameplay

The game grew out of a 2012 public safety campaign in Melbourne, Australia, that warned people about careless behavior around trains and railway platforms. The campaign became a worldwide hit and won numerous international awards before its quirky characters made the jump to mobile.

Your job is to keep those same characters alive and stop them from dying in dumb ways. Each challenge lasts only a few seconds, and you complete it with quick taps, swipes or other simple touch actions.

You get 3 lives per run. Every mistake ends with your character freezing in a funny pose and dropping into a grave. Lose all three and it is game over, so you start again from the beginning.

Mini-games, scores and challenges

Situations range from jumping the gap between the train and the platform, to squirting mustard on a hot dog so a snake will not bite, to blowing into your phone’s microphone to keep a plane in the air. The number of mini-games is fairly limited, but the scoring and high-score system is what keeps you coming back.

Each success raises your score, yet the pace speeds up too, making everything harder. Sometimes the only instruction is to not press a button, and the frantic rhythm tricks you into pressing it anyway. It is ridiculous, which is exactly what the title promises.

You can also collect coins to unlock new characters and join special competitions with extra rewards and fresh challenges. That mix has helped the game pass 50 million downloads and earn a 4.4 out of 5 rating on Google Play.
