Wordington story and gameplay

You follow Emma, a young woman who returns to the small town of her childhood after a painful breakup. Her grandfather has left her the large old family house, and she decides to move in and bring it back to life, one room at a time.

Instead of the match puzzles common in this genre, Wordington uses word puzzles. You form English words from the letters on screen, earn a star for each solved puzzle, and spend stars to complete renovation tasks. Since not every player is fluent in English, a Tips feature is there to help, though hints are limited in normal play.

Fans of Homescapes or Gardenscapes will feel at home with the story structure, visuals and progression. The game also follows on from the studio’s earlier Puzzleton: Match & Design, with the main difference being how you earn points.

Content and design

The story unfolds in a linear way, packed with fun events, and much of it is told through conversations with the town’s other characters. Animations and story scenes keep things lively and give the game a strong narrative side.

You can design rooms, pick furniture and customize different parts of the house. Colorful cartoon-style graphics, detailed items and relaxing music make each session easygoing, while side stories, clear goals and rewards keep you moving forward.
