Where the earlier Warplanes: WW2 Dogfight covered World War II, this entry focuses on the air war of 1914 to 1918. You fly fighters and bombers that were actually used in the conflict, on either side of the front.

The roster includes more than 30 historical aircraft modeled on real planes, each with its own flight characteristics. Among them is the famous Fokker Dr.I, the triplane associated with Manfred von Richthofen, the German ace credited with over 80 aerial victories.

Combat is fast and close, built around tight maneuvers and short-range dogfights, and the 3D visuals draw on the aircraft and landscapes of the era.

Game Modes and Content

The game is split into two main modes:

• Pilot Mode: you play as a single pilot, taking on missions that range from shooting down enemy aircraft to bombing targets on the ground.
• Squadron Leader Mode: on top of flying, you command an air squadron, recruiting pilots, managing them and sending them on missions for an added layer of strategy.

You can fight for either side and fly German, British, Russian, French and other aircraft. The story campaign takes you across different parts of the world with increasingly demanding missions.

Between sorties, upgrade engines, weapons and equipment to improve your planes, and expand your airbase and its military facilities to build a stronger squadron.
