Unknown HERO brings a nostalgic, 90s-style pixel-art RPG to your phone. Listed on Google Play as Unknown HERO – Item Farming RPG, it is the first official project from Korean indie studio Implayer, released free after several test builds. The visuals are simple 2D pixel art, yet the game runs smoothly in HD. Your hero starts out almost helpless, practically a baby, and grows stronger as you discover items, clear stages and defeat enemies, until he becomes a legendary warrior.

Controls are straightforward. On-screen buttons move you left and right, jump and attack, while dedicated buttons trigger special powers and skills. You push forward, cutting through enemies with your sword. Tap jump twice for a high double jump that clears obstacles and lets you dodge enemy attacks during tough fights.

Hero customization and content

The standout feature is building your own custom hero. By merging different items and combining a variety of skills, you shape a powerful character with abilities of your choosing. Support skills include elemental powers such as ice, fire and storm.

Enemies scale up progressively, gaining strength stage after stage, so every new level brings a harder challenge and pushes you to keep upgrading your hero and hunting for better items and powers.

Requirements and installing the XAPK

You need Android 5.0 or later, and the download is about 144 MB. Note that Unknown HERO is online-only: you must connect to one of the game’s servers to play, so it does not work offline.
