Developed by White Wizard Games, it is the digital edition of the popular tabletop game of the same name, also available on iOS, Xbox and PC.

Star Realms APK download for Android: how the game plays

Star Realms is a deck-building game with rules that are easy to pick up. You lead a fleet of starships into battle, aiming to defend your realm by destroying the enemy.

You start with a hand of five cards and gradually buy stronger cards from the trade row on the table while scrapping weak ones. Play is turn-based: each turn you play cards to damage your opponent. Both sides start with 50 authority, and whoever drops the other to zero first wins.

Every card has an ability in one of four categories: more trade (buying power), more combat, more authority, or special text effects. A card’s cost appears in its top corner and its faction symbol in the opposite corner. Whenever a card is bought from the trade row, a new one replaces it.

Factions and game modes

Cards belong to four factions: the Machine Cult, the Blob, the Star Empire and the Trade Federation. Playing cards of the same faction together unlocks extra power, and building around those combos is where the strategy lies.

The game features ships and bases with varied abilities, plus several ways to play:

• Campaign: story missions with different objectives.
• Versus AI: single matches you can play offline.
• Online multiplayer: compete against other players.

The art style is distinctive, with detailed ships, bases and space effects, backed by sci-fi music and punchy battle sounds. Controls are simple taps and swipes.

Requirements and installing the XAPK

Star Realms needs Android 7.1 or newer, and the download is about 389 MB. The file comes as an XAPK, so you will need an XAPK installer app to set it up.

Open the installer, select the downloaded file and follow the prompts. Once installed, the campaign and AI matches run without an internet connection, while online multiplayer requires one.
