Gems of War – Match 3 RPG for Android

Looking for a puzzle game with real depth? This Gems of War APK download for Android page gets you the latest version 9.4.0 as an XAPK file. Published by 505 Games Srl, the studio behind releases such as Terraria, Portal Knights and Brothers: a Tale of two Sons, Gems of War is free to play and mixes classic gem matching with role-playing combat.

Gems of War APK download for Android: how the game plays

Combining two very different genres often falls flat, but Gems of War pulls it off. The Match 3 puzzles and RPG systems feed into each other, and that blend is the heart of the game’s appeal.

During each battle you swap gems to line up at least 3 identical pieces horizontally or vertically. Matched gems vanish and their points are counted, while chains of 4 or more earn bigger rewards. Special pieces also appear on the board, and using them well can deliver huge scores and swing a fight.

Combat is turn-based: your matches power up hero skills that you unleash on the enemy. Simple touch controls handle everything, from matching gems to casting skills and managing your team.

Heroes and team building

More than 300 heroes and legendary creatures are waiting to be collected, each with unique, upgradeable skills. Collect and level up cards to boost their power and unlock new abilities, then build a squad by combining different troops, weapons and classes.

Game modes and content

Gems of War offers plenty to do:

• Campaign: story missions across the game’s fantasy world.
• PvP Arena: asynchronous competition against other players’ teams, so your opponent does not need to be online at the same time; higher scores and ranks decide the winner.
• Guild Wars: large-scale battles between guilds.
• Treasure Hunt and Dungeon: extra challenges with their own rewards.

Alliances let you cooperate, compete and earn group rewards, and daily challenges plus seasonal events add special prizes. You will manage several resources, including gold, souls, gems, keys and upgrade items, all presented in colorful 2D fantasy art with magical effects.

Requirements and installing the XAPK file

• Android 6.0 or newer.
• Enough free storage for a file of about 699 MB.
• An internet connection, as the game is online only.
• Age rating: 10+.

The game comes as an XAPK file, so you need an XAPK installer app; a regular APK installer will not work. Download the file, open it with the XAPK installer, allow installs from unknown sources if prompted, then launch the game and sign in. GNVID offers only the original, unmodified game.
