Unlike most Madfinger titles, DEAD TRIGGER does not lean on a long storyline. You jump straight into a menu of levels and pick where to fight next. Touch controls for aiming, shooting and moving can be customized, so the game adapts to your screen and play style.

The 3D graphics run on the Unity engine with cinematic effects, and players have praised the game for its visuals and especially its realistic water and smoke effects.

Missions, weapons and locations

Levels fall into four main types:

• Kill: take down a set number of zombies to finish the level.
• Survive: stay alive until the timer runs out.
• Carry: move specific items from one point to another while fighting off the horde.
• Defend: protect the gate of your base.

On top of these you will find missions to rescue survivors, gather supplies and hunt special zombies, plus daily levels with special rewards. Battles take you through the city, the subway, a lab, a hospital and contaminated zones.

The arsenal is broad: assault rifles, machine guns, shotguns, grenade launchers and even sci-fi weapons. Each gun has its own price, and you buy and upgrade weapons and items using two in-game currencies, cash and gold, earned as you progress.
