About Castle Defender and How It Plays

You lead a band of legendary heroes sworn to protect a sacred castle. Without warning, an army of monsters and wild creatures marches on the walls in groups, and it is your job to hold them back.

Heroes are placed on top of the castle and fire down at enemies, attacking automatically as soon as foes get close enough. The giant crossbow in the middle of the castle only fires on your command: place your finger on the screen and drag up or down to aim its bolts at specific spots.

Every hero attacks in a different way, so throwing any unit at the problem will not work. Picking the right hero at the right moment, based on their abilities, is where the strategy comes in.

Heroes, Maps and Levels

More than 30 heroes can be summoned, upgraded and equipped, and you can combine warriors, mages, knights and archers into a balanced defense. Upgrading heroes across several levels makes them stronger and unlocks new abilities, while better gear boosts your castle’s overall defense.

The battles span five maps, including forest, temple, sea, cave and labyrinth settings, with over 250 levels of varying difficulty. Monster types are varied, each with its own special attacks and movement patterns.

When things get tough, special powers such as a whirlwind, freezing enemies and explosive strikes can turn the tide. Later stages become genuinely challenging, so expect to plan carefully.
