What is Botworld Adventure and how does it play?

Botworld Adventure is hard to pin to one genre. It combines an open-world RPG with real-time strategic auto-battler combat and gacha-style collecting elements.

You play a young hero who sets out with a few bots received as a gift from his parents, aiming to collect every robot in the world. To recruit a new bot, you first have to defeat it in battle.

The gameplay draws clear inspiration from Pokémon and Dota Underlords. You deploy your bots onto the battlefield, and victory depends on how you position them and how well you use each one’s unique abilities. As the hero, you can also trigger bonus powers mid-fight to give your team the edge.

Modes and content

The world currently offers more than 10 locations and over 30 bot types, spanning forests, deserts, beaches, mountains and several towns. The developers have said more locations and bots may arrive in the future.

You pick your main character from four races: cat, dog, buffalo or lizard. From there you build a team of bots with different classes and skills, upgrading and customizing them through the Scrap system. Customization is mostly cosmetic, while upgrades directly improve battle performance.

Story and side quests introduce a varied cast with engaging dialogue, and you gather resources, items and parts to craft and improve gear. For competition, the Arena offers PvP matches against other players, which require an internet connection.
